Where to buy used cars online?
Cars are one of the big purchases in people’s lives – they tend to cost a lot of money, and having a car can make a difference to your independence just like owning your own home.
Of course, nobody wants to pay more than they have to, so by going for a used rather than a new car we can minimise the cost of acquiring a new vehicle. These days there are a number of reputable sites that many people have had great success with when it comes time to hunt for that new-old car.
Auction Sites
These let you bid against other interested buyers, and since sites such as eBay are so incredibly popular you will always find a wide selection of cars of all models and ages. It does give you the option to buy a car without having seen it, which is typically not advisable – better to look for auctions in your area. But if you must, at least Paypal has a reliable service for refunds should the car not live up to the description. Some sellers have an instant buy option which can sometimes yield bargains.
Autotrader
This is the UK’s big daddy of used car sites. It has a powerful search engine designed to pull up cars that closely match your desired spec’s, so it’s easy to compare a broad range of vehicles, or you may wish to search only for specific models. There is a very large user base so practically every model built is represented, and it also allows user reviews for that all important personal touch. The ads are strictly classifieds, so you need to go see the car and pay in the traditional way, but since this is the most reliable way to make sure you get what you pay for it’s no problem!
